Join us on a walking tour through the natural habitats of a number of vulnerable species. Set in the beautiful and important tributary region of the Hawkesbury River known as Mangrove Creek with exclusive access across private lands into rarely seen environments and layered histories. We begin our journey on the river flats where we can marvel at the vulnerable listed Melaleuca Biconvexa paperbark stand among lush regrowth forest. Visiting the crystal clear waters of Red Hands Creek and the hanging swamp at Birds Eye Creek we catch glimpses of the tadpoles of the rare Giant Burrowing Frog. Higher up we will search for the elusive Glossy Black Cockatoo gazing out over the meandering river passing abandoned wharves, school and cemetery. Enjoy stops for billy tea, views, and visit Red Hands Cave and puzzle rock. We will explore the mighty and the macro, sit in silence, stand and CooEeee, Exchange with people and with nature, hear, feel and see the wonders of this beautiful area. BYO lunch for on the way.
