Storytelling, local gifts and art at the Hawkesbury Duck. Pop Up Storytelling minis on the hour - bookings for 11am; 12pm; 1pm and 2pm. Tea & coffee for sale - relax with a favourite brew from the curated tea menu while listening to history revelations. Choose from Darjeeling Peony White Tea, T2 Tutti Frutti or perhaps a Billy Tea is more your style - served in vintage china on the verandah. Joined by artist Trudi Nisbet showcasing new work. Trudi has been throwing and glazing ceramics with intent using laguna brown clay and other local materials. Her work for sale includes beautiful pottery, fibre art and coiled basketry from upcycled materials. Vintage teapots, Spencer 2023 calendars, local bee products, art cards and rare history books also available for purchase.

Dr Bernadette Flynn is an historian and heritage professional with a passion for researching the layered histories of the Lower Hawkesbury River. Bernadette is the CEO and Director of Heritage Ventures which she established to introduce people to the delights of the majestic Dyarubbin and its tributaries. Previously she has curated events as the General Manager for the Historical Houses Association and has run tours for the National Trust and as manager of Griffith Pioneer Park Museum. Bernadette holds a PhD in cultural heritage interpretation focusing on the archaeology of the ancient Maltese temples. She has taught at tertiary level for over 15 years.
