Historical Storytelling about river tales and mystery
Launch at the meeting of the Hawkesbury River and Mangrove Creek.
Explore Popran Creek. BBQ lunch
Come and explore the incredible Hawkesbury landscape from a comfortable and easy to operate double sea kayak. Join us for a paddle along the smaller tributaries of the Hawkesbury River (Derrubin) only accessible by small craft. Launching from Spencer we glide into Mangrove lined Popran Creek to view the evidence of past settlement and on the way chance a glimpse of the local birdlife, including soaring sea eagles, pelicans and kingfishers. Visiting 'the Halt' we hear about early water transport - from indigenous bark canoes to sailing boats, steamers and the floating store boats. Double kayaks and all gear is provided. Morning tea at Gentlemans Halt and BBQ lunch on the waterfront.
