Enjoy a day by the Hawkesbury River capturing the essence of native bees using simple techniques to paint in watercolours. Our day begins celebrating the over 1700 species of Australian native bees with a local bee enthusiast. Sample honey of the native stingless bee followed by a superb morning tea. Learn the application of colour, shade and dimension to create interesting textures under the expert guidance of Central Coast artist and designer Leonie Loewe. Guaranteed to be a fun-filled environment where you’ll enjoy the company of others and take away your own beautiful artwork, along with the skills to capture native bees in stunning watercolours. No previous skills needed - watercolour paints and all materials will be provided. Morning tea, lunch, and an afternoon reviver included, plus take-home gift.
the tutor
Central Coast artist and designer Leonie Loewe has a passion for Australian native Flora and Fauna, and is constantly 'Inspired by Nature'. With a focus on watercolour as her medium of choice, she loves painting what she sees around her. Her designs have been featured nationally, in magazines including Cleo and NW, and featured on advertising for native products. With over 15 years’ experience in teaching adults, she loves sharing her wealth of knowledge with one on one and group classes.
