Heritage Ventures is a cultural heritage tourism company with a social mission—to share and protect the layered stories, rich heritage, and stunning landscapes of the Lower Hawkesbury River and connected waterways. We blend outdoor adventure with hidden histories, botany, archaeology and breathtaking natural beauty. Underpinned by research, our half-day and full-day walking, kayaking, and boating tours, workshops and symposia reveal the rich cultural fabric of the Hawkesbury River and the surrounding sandstone country— lands shaped by thousands of years of Aboriginal connection, settler stories, and dramatic natural forces.

Bernadette established Heritage Ventures to introduce people to the delights of the landscape and waterways around the Mangrove Creek catchment area and local sandstone country.

Since moving to Spencer 15 years ago Bernadette has explored places off the beaten track on foot and by kayak, building up knowledge of the local flora and fauna and delving into the archive for historical and archaeological evidence.
